This knowledge-sharing session will bring together key policymakers from Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Thailand to share their experiences in developing and operationalizing Article 6, and understanding the key opportunities it offers. The session will offer valuable insights for other countries embarking on their own Article 6 readiness initiatives.
Lao PDR, represented by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, will share its experience in preparing a core piece of legislation – a Government decree – to develop carbon markets, which is nearing approval. Cambodia and Thailand will then contribute perspectives on preparing Article 6 project approval guidelines and assessing carbon project pipelines.
