The urgency of addressing climate change requires robust, evidence-based decision-making in policy design and implementation. This session will focus on the systematic monitoring and evaluation of climate policy instruments to ensure their effectiveness, efficiency, and adaptability. Assessing the potential impacts of these policies is crucial for understanding their effects on GHG emissions, economic variables, social consequences, and technological innovation. Continuous assessment is essential for achieving the Paris Agreement goals and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). To facilitate this, we propose a workshop bringing together international organizations to share experiences and methodologies in climate policy evaluation. Additionally, the Climate Defense Program will be highlighted, showcasing its mission to cultivate climate leadership and support the implementation of national contributions and adaptation plans, with an emphasis on global equity and developing female climate leadership.
