The Green Growth Index measures a country’s performance in achieving sustainability targets, including Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), The Paris Agreement, and Aichi Biodiversity Targets.
The session will present national applications of the Green Growth Index covering the four dimensions: (1) Efficient and sustainable resource use, (2) Natural capital protection, (3) Green economic opportunities, and (4) Social Inclusion. The presentations will highlight how the dimensions and their corresponding green growth indicators are understood among policymakers and mainstreamed in the planning process, such as the National Green Growth Strategy, and how identifying and selecting the green growth indicators by government stakeholders contributes to their capacity building.
