The green transition offers opportunities and obstacles for full and meaning participation of all – however, we risk leaving many behind. Globally, many of us are currently faced with numerous challenges due to the global economic downturn, climate crises, and conflict. These challenges place further pressure on vulnerable and marginalized groups – women, men, young people, people with disabilities, and low-income groups. Despite these challenges, many have persevered in improving their communities, and giving voice to the voiceless.
By harnessing the potential of all -through inclusive interventions, which “do no harm” and “leave no one behind”, we will have more people being part of the solutions, and benefitting from social co-benefits of green growth actions.
Partnerships between political, social, and economic actors are key to fast tracking transformative and inclusive green growth. Efficient and sustainable resource use, natural capital protection, green economic opportunities, or social inclusion will not be attainable if different actors do not collectively pool resources and address gaps.
This session convenes different actors to share interventions at political, social, and economic spheres for achieving inclusive green growth. It will explore entry points for leveraging opportunities and processes to build political and economic commitment in support of engaging diverse groups during the green transition
Format: Panel discussion with Q&A
