Overview:

The GGG Week is hosted by the Global Green Growth Institute, to be held from October 24-28, 2022, in the margins of the GGGI 11th Assembly and 15th Council Joint Session. The theme of GGGWeek2022 is “Public-Private Partnerships for Green & Climate Finance mobilization, Carbon Markets/Pricing development, adoption of Nature-based Solutions and Enhanced Adaptation Capacities”. GGGWeek2022 will feature high-level panel discussions, keynote speeches, interactive sessions and debates that will highlight examples of solutions and best practices for green recovery, develop Green New Deals to accelerate the implementation of the Paris Agreement, engage with global green growth leaders and practitioners, forge partnerships, and provide participants with learning and sharing opportunities across a range of sectors and topics to advance the global efforts to build back better.

The Côte d’Ivoire country office aims to organize a breakfast session in Côte d’Ivoire. The need to change the paradigm emerged at the beginning of the 2010s while the country is faced with the increasingly significant environmental and climatic damage effects. The green growth model is proving to be a credible alternative. Indeed, green growth is about fostering economic growth and development while ensuring that natural assets continue to provide the resources and environmental services on which our well-being depends. It also intends to stimulate investment and innovation which will be the basis of regular growth and will generate new economic opportunities. Green growth thus has several dimensions and aims to “green growth” and exploit the new opportunities for growth created by environmental considerations.

The purpose of the breakfast session is to:

•               Provide the characteristics, indicators and opportunities of green growth for Côte d’Ivoire;

•               Share the existing models and best practices;

•               Present the challenges and recommendations to overcome them;
