The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is committed to “driving, growing, and empowering green growth through knowledge transfer” as stated by GGGI’s Global Operational Priorities (Priority 7).
In the context of this ambition, GGGI hosted the 6th time its flagship knowledge convening and sharing event, Global Green Growth Week, between 24-28 October 2022. The main theme of the 2022 edition of Global Green Growth was “Unlocking the Potential of Green Growth and Climate Finance Innovations”. The event brought together GGGI’s Members, partners and other external stakeholders including the public at country, regional and global levels.
Global Green Growth Week was organized in the same week when GGGI’s annual Assembly and Council joint sessions took place, and in the lead up to UNFCCC Conference of Parties 27 (COP27). Global Green Growth Week featured high-level panel discussions, keynote speeches, interactive session and debates that highlighted examples of solutions and best practices to advance the implementation of the Paris Agreement and NetZero pledges. The event also provided an opportunity to engage and forge partnerships with global green growth leaders and practitioners and provided the participants with learning and sharing opportunities across a range of sectors and topics.
This year, a total of 41 sessions were held including 39 interactive knowledge sharing sessions, a high-level Ministerial Panel and Partnership Day event (“Korea Day”). The event attracted 6,288 attendees from various stakeholders working on the green growth agenda and Sustainable Development Goals.
