Overview:

Due to the disproportionate and increasing impact of climate change,Pacific Island Countries (PICs) urgently require external financial support. CFAN was founded to address the needs of developing countries who struggled to access critical climate finance in the increasingly complex and challenging international financing ecosystem. CFAN directly addresses these needs and offers a solution to the climate finance bottleneck. Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) is the Global Coordinator for CFAN and GGGI and SPC are implementing partners in the Pacific. Through GGGI CFAN is currently supporting eight PICs with dedicated climate finance advisors. This session will highlight CFAN’s efforts to secure funding and emphasize the need for innovative solutions. Additionally, the session will discuss finance mechanisms and demonstrate climate financing for electrification in Vanuatu, along with its potential replicability in other Pacific countries.
