Overview:
Media and communication can be crucial for addressing the challenges the opportunities posed by climate change. Media and communication are powerful tools to build awareness and knowledge, influence attitudes and behaviors, influence policies and practices, provide lifesaving information during crisis, as well as fostering innovation and empowering communities though connections. The context of the climate crisis around us requires at-scale interventions and actions. In this session we will explore how media and communication complement and drive interventions at community, national, and global levels. We explore creative examples of interventions that reach people at scale. The session will also address how storytelling can engage and prompt people to action. Furthermore, we will delve into the conducive policy environment required to harness the potential of media and communication for the protection of our planet and people.
