In March 2022 the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MOEF) of the Republic of Korea (ROK) entered into an Administration Agreement for the Korea Green New Deal Fund (KGNDF) to develop innovative and influential green growth and climate resilience oriented projects. For several years now, KGNDF has built close collaboration with Korean partners, aiming for a strategic approach and meaningful accomplishments. This session provides an in-depth examination of the significant achievements realized by the Korea Green New Deal Fund (KGNDF) in collaboration with its Korean counterparts during the period 2022-2023. It will commence with a meticulous presentation of KGNDF’s key accomplishments, emphasizing the challenges encountered and the subsequent resolutions implemented. Moreover, insights will be shared regarding the lessons drawn from the partnership cases, offering valuable perspectives for future collaborations. Subsequently, the discourse will shift to an exploration of the extended impacts, with a specific focus on the concerted efforts directed towards achieving the net-zero objective by 2050. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the strategic initiatives undertaken by Korean line ministries, shedding light on their pivotal contributions to the overarching goal of carbon neutrality.
