Overview:
The session will focus on what it takes to develop National Financing vehicles with Mongolia Green Finance Corporation (MGFC) as an example, share learnings of do’s and don’ts and the status of MGFC.
The session will also look at the Private Sector Facility (PSF) set up by GCF. Dr. Ick Jin will provide an insight on ways to link ESG investment to green and climate finance via a national financing vehicle. Mr. Jin’s primary research interest includes ESG investing, sustainable development, climate finance, climate technology among others. The session will benefit from research and learnings through his academic papers and policy reports including “Analysis of the impact of achieving NDC on public climate finance,” “Is ESG a systematic risk factor for US equity mutual funds?”, “ESG-screening and Factor-risk-adjusted Performance: the Concentration Level of Screening Does Matter,” “Measuring Cross-Cutting Factors Influencing Institutional and Innovation Efficiency for I4R”, “Circular Economy Policy in Korea,” etc.
In the session on “Building the financial architecture for sustainable economic transitions, towards improving policy consistency and coordination”: We will learn about the Green Finance Platform that provides a clearinghouse of market, policy and regulatory innovations for the financial system to contribute to the transition towards a low-carbon, resilient and inclusive economy.
