Overview:
Papua New Guinea (PNG) has experienced consistent economic growth and made steady yet modest progress across various social development indicators since the early 2000s. With the unprecedented challenge of climate change and its impacts, PNG is taking inspirational steps to Fast-Track Transformative Climate Action across the national and sub-national levels of its society.
Demonstrating exemplary efforts of mainstreaming climate resilience into its development agenda, this session will bring together speakers from the national and provincial administrations to highlight how PNG is leading the way in climate action and sustainable growth for its people. The session will showcase the progress and achievement of the flagship Climate Resilient Green Growth (CRGG) project which was funded by the PNG-Australia Partnership Program, and its impacts on people in the provinces of Enga, Milne Bay, and New Ireland.
