Overview:

Papua New Guinea´s Inclusive Green Finance Policy(IGFP) is a pioneer piece of policy that sets the scene to start implementing green finance at scale. Its primary goal is to mobilize a minimum of $50 million by 2026. Green finance is a powerful tool to promote efficient and sustainable resource use, while protecting natural capital through economic opportunities that can deliver jobs for those underserved-marginalized. This session will explore strategies for expanding IGFP’s reach across the Pacific region, enabling other Pacific countries to leverage Papua New Guinea’s pioneering approach as a model. Additionally, the discussion will highlight the GGGI’s partnership with government in the Pacific Island Countries (PICs), New Zealand, and France, as well as financial institutions including central banks.
