Overview:

COP28 marks the conclusion of the Global Stocktake (GST), a process which will tell us how far we are from achieving the Paris Agreement. With results of the GST still in progress, COP28 will be about course corrections and higher ambitions. In this session, we will reflect on the legacy of COP27 and look ahead to COP28 to understand what’s currently at stake. Different perspectives will be heard from diverse speakers and panelists including the governments of Egypt and UAE as former and incoming COP president respectively, least developed countries (LDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS); private sectors, youth and indigenous groups.
